For those of you who are currently unaware of my summer's adventures, I'll be serving as the kayak guide for the Bald Head Island Conservancy. Bald Head Island, known as Baldy by the locals, is located just off the coast of Wilmington, NC. In actuality, its not really an island, more like a continuation of a peninsula that's only separated from its northern partner by a tiny little river. At this point I'm not really sure what my job is going to entail, but my idealistic pre-arrival wishes went a little something like this:
Nice easy days of paddling and educating interuppted only by the occasional damsel rescue.
We'll see how that goes...
